Extreme networks® offers solutions to enterprise organizations and metro service providers. Our approach to solving the problems of our target markets is to provide a networking infrastructure comprising key architectural building blocks that is modular, open, and standards-based, and to then work with other best-of-breed partners to deliver an open converged infrastructure.

The Leader in Open Converged Networks Innovation and experience - this is what Extreme Networks® offers its customers. Our unyielding commitment to innovation means that year after year we deliver networking technology that helps you build an infrastructure that benefits your company.
Our years of experience in building some
of the largest networks in the world proves that our innovative approach can work for your organization.
Today, we combine our innovative spirit with our networking expertise to deliver an “Open Converged
Network” that enables you to build a more flexible IT infrastructure. An Open Converged Network is
one that integrates voice, video and traditional data. It carries all communications, including applications
that are transaction-oriented and connection oriented.
Our vision for this converged network lies
on the principle that access to the network must be universal via wired or wireless connectivity but it
must be seamless to the user. Our Open Converged Network architecture also provides you with the flexibility required to choose your own technology path. With our open platform, you can integrate best-in-class technologies that are best suited for your needs.
Why Choose
Extreme Networks?
Infrastructure solutions from Extreme Networks
provide powerful capabilities to solve complex networking
challenges. Convergence and security dominate
today’s agenda—but how will you prepare for the
future? Networks will continue to play a pivotal role in
the effective delivery of advanced, secure, and mobile
communications. We believe our open networks are the
best strategy for capturing the value of future technologies,
applications, and defenses.
For many network equipment providers, an open network
is simply a standards compliant network. At
Extreme Networks, we go further by offering the
industry’s first open interfaces providing core network
functionality that can be used as services to third-party
solutions. We continue to develop new industry partnerships
to help ensure our customers can enjoy more
choice and higher performance now and in the future.

Extreme Networks - The Purple Guide to Greener Networking |
|
|

Energy efficiency has become a critical issue for data centers, but while other manufacturers have touted their products’ ’green’ capabilities, actual results have not met expectations.
However, testing by a third-party laboratory has verified that the Extreme Networks® BlackDiamond® 8810 switch consumes roughly half the energy used by certain switches from Cisco. And in a head-to-head comparison, the Extreme Networks solution proved more efficient than Nortel as well.
Additional power savings may be achieved through the use of the Chassis Hibernation widget. Power savings using this Chassis Hibernation technology can result in up to 94% savings over competitive products.
That translates into bottom-line savings in energy and budget for data center managers. And with its high-performance, intelligent design, the BlackDiamond 8810 doesn’t compromise on critical features required for highly available data center networks.
